Plant and Environmental Safety

  • Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment.
  • Take personal ownership to work safely and hold other team members to the same high standards of safety.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on- the -job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem.
  • Participates in the safety, quality, autonomous maintenance, TPM and housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Focused Improvement Events, Safety Committee, Training, etc.
  • Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
  • Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Performs cleanup duties at workstations and/or equipment/machinery.
  • Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems/abnormalities to appropriate personnel, maintaining strong communication with the appropriate line section operators to ensure immediate action is taken for product out of spec.
  • Inspect vehicles before use and throughout shift, keeping all equipment clean and operational.


TPM

  • Participates in plant TPM initiatives - completing activities associated with TPM tasks (adheres to CILT standard, 5S).
  • Continues to use TPM methodology to gain a better understanding of the equipment.
  • Identifies and participates proactively in learning opportunities and develops expertise in those areas.
  • Utilizes Focus Improvement tools to problem solve.
  • Works to achieve zero injuries, zero defects and zero losses.
  • During PM days, uses time effectively to bring equipment to optimal condition for zero losses.
  • Assists with teaching about DM and Step Boards.


Drive TPM and CI Culture

Drive the implementation of TPM and CI systems, processes, and tools to create a culture the weaves these processes into daily tasks and responsibilities:

  • Train, coach and develop all levels of leadership and TPM teams on TPM and CI Tools
  • Drive cross training activities for employee development in the TPM and CI skills.
  • Assist the TPM Training Coordinator in maintain training records and cross training matrices to show continued development in the areas of TPM and CI
  • Train employees on Standardized Work, using SharePoint Site for Document Control and Records Management
  • Initiate, coordinate or complete skills matrices and qualification check sheets as prioritized by AM, FI, PM, and EH&S Pillars
  • Coach employees on the One Point Lessons (OPLs) process and on writing them assist in the ongoing tracking and maintenance of the OPLs for document control.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and guide teams in creating training materials and models.
  • Assist the TPM Training Coordinator in maintaining the training center.
  • Assist the TPM Training Coordinator in creating, maintaining, and tracking training in the Talent Center Leading Management System
  • Work with the operations and maintenance leader on all aspects of TPM including maintaining daily management processes and communications.
  • Engage the team in incorporating TPM tools and processes into their areas of responsibility.
  • Encourage delivering results using TPM tools, systems, and processes; being present on the floor to guide, assist and develop the hourly team.
  • Understand the quality metrics, processes, and systems to maximize the use of TPM and CI to achieve these goals to provide a quality product for our customer.
  • Assist in representing the plant on TPM operating rhythm calls.
  • Work to manage the plants TPM journey from Pilot area on
  • Assist in AM Step training.
  • Partner with the T&D training team to create and deliver knowledge-based training on TPM Steps

    Production Support
  • Drive the Management of Change process related to TPM materials such as Standard Work, Skills Matrices, and Training Plans to ensure proper documentation is used for training when changes occur.
  • Support TPM Teams on implementation of TPM the OC Way
  • Participates in the Safety and Housekeeping programs as established within the plant and work areas.
  • Participates in continuous improvement events.
  • Basic understanding of the process equipment used in this facility

    Meetings/ Schedule /Additional Support
  • Attend/lead various meetings and huddles, as needed.
  • Attend TPM Team Meetings and be visible on the floor.
  • Assist in representing the plant on TPM operating calls.
  • Must have experience or be willing to shadow the various machines/roles to gain knowledge of plant processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and TPM Methodology
  • Previous experience in CI and/or in creating Standard Work

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiently demonstrate math and communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand Technical Manuals and Specification Sheets
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Maintain certifications and skill sets necessary to train employees.
  • Ability to facilitate training in various formats.
  • Ability to implement and use the Learning Management System within Talent Center
  • Must be initiative-taking to work independently and in a group and meet targets.
  • Must have strong attention to detail

    Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Exposure to dust/dirt/fumes/fiberglass
  • Ability to work in wet environments: including head and feet.
  • Industrial manufacturing environment with extreme temperature variation
  • Exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable (hearing protection is provided)
  • Ability to wear applicable PPE for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shading.
  • Ability to become certified to operate a forklift.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking for 8 12-hour shifts.
  • Bending and twisting; repetitive movements
  • Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Must be able to work flexible rotating shift schedules mandatory overtime as required.
