The Position of Wire Center Assistant Manager will be based out of our Douglasville, GA Location!

Summary

The Wire Center Assistant Manager manages alongside the Wire Center Manager, all center functions that include, but are not limited to, workplace safety, wire and FlexSeT purchasing, working directly with sales associates, maintaining quality products and solutions, working with vendors and suppliers, assisting with the P&L, managing associates, managing inbound and outbound material, and balancing overall labor optimization. Primary focus will be running the floor operations and working the human capital to meet the wire center objectives.


What You’ll Do

  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Properly handle returned goods to suppliers
  • Manage human capital to ensure safety procedures are followed and maintained, completing associate reviews, and ensuring that all training is completed on time
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to carry out duties to service customer orders
  • Work with internal and external customers to ensure proper servicing of orders and job site requirements
  • Project coordination of wire orders, material transfers, and FlexSeT deliveries
  • Assist sales teams in making recommendations on possible solutions to improve safety and efficiencies on projects
  • Utilize multiple computer systems, programs, apps, and websites to create, complete, and deliver customer orders
  • Ensure all material is properly received and put away
  • Ensure wire cutting and solution department processes and procedures are followed
  • Work with procurement teams to ensure material coverage and utilization
  • Comply and maintain UL requirements on building FlexSeT switchboards
  • Complete customer site visits to ensure proper alignments in deliveries and pull schedules are maintained
  • Design, develop, and maintain solutions within the center to have a greater competitive advantage
  • Focus on quality improvements, identifying root cause(s) to eliminating future mistakes
  • Assist sales teams during customer visits to ensure we are selling our offered solutions and promoting center to win additional business
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • High School or GED
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with electrical distribution, warehousing, or wire/cable experience
  • 1+ years of warehouse management experience preferred
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Experience with purchasing and general negotiation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to handle simple to very complex projects, releases, deadlines while utilizing internal and external methods of servicing projects are required
  • Ability to read, write, and compute basic to complexed math skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced understanding of warehouse procedures
  • Advanced understanding of issues that electrical contractors operate through to develop solutions and offerings to increase their safety and productivity on job sites
  • Great organizational skills, attention to detail, complexed problem solving and time management skills
  • Project management skills
  • Great computer skills with ability to work with Office 360 products and ERP/WMS systems
