Duties

Serve as directorate point-of-contact to coordinate and/or relay technical information passed on by other offices.
Gather and compile data from a variety of sources (regulations, directives, employees, standing operating procedures, etc.) to support studies or inquiries from higher level authorities.
Assure propriety of formats, spacing, arrangements, and preparation of typed material in final form as prescribed by acceptable style manuals or specific instructions pertaining to documents being produced.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
The incumbent may be required to go on Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time.
This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.
Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
Obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Performing office automation support such as preparing documents, reports, and correspondences utilizing automated data processing systems 2) Reviewing documents such as correspondence and report for grammatical error; and 3) Utilizing automated systems such as Automated Time Attendance and Production Systems (ATAAPS) and Defense Travel Systems (DTS) for inputting employee's timekeeping and travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
