What You Will Be Doing

As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, running reports for management, and Accounting team, recording a wide range of financial transactions and bookkeeping assistance. Duties include bank reconciliation, drafting financial documents, vendor management, entering invoices and expense vouchers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Process invoices into TimberScan, approximate volume 500 weekly
    • Match PO on invoice to POs in Sage/TimberScan.
    • Research invoices without PO on invoice to match open POs.
    • Utilize Active Job spreadsheet to find jobs for non-PO invoices such as equipment and utilities.
    • Verify accuracy of invoices and other accounting records and documents.
    • Reach out to vendors when POs are not provided on invoices received prior to uploading to TimberScan.
    • Research questionable data.
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records.
  • Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure requests are addressed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
  • Maintain a positive customer service approach in all interactions with vendors and coworkers.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Foster and maintain a pleasant and cooperative ambience in the office.
  • Positively communicate with other departments when discrepancies are identified.
  • Maintain constant quality improvement mindset aiding in process documentation.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree optional.
  • Familiar with basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • SAGE or Vista Viewpoint experience preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain accurate data.
  • Working daily with a high volume of transactions.
  • Requires an intermediate level of mathematics and general office experience.
  • Must be computer literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Teams.
  • Must have excellent Data Entry Skills -alpha numeric and 10-key by touch.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with vendors, coworkers, and management
