Accounts Payable Specialist

In this role, you will lean on your analytical skills, attention to detail and accounting knowledge to support our Canadian business unit. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform 3-way match on all invoices prior to keying and paying
• Contact preparers of source document to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data
• Generate payments per supplier terms, research any holds, perform manual payment process and record voided checks.
• Perform A/P manufacturer invoice matching process and prepare manufacturer statement reconciliations
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
• Support business unit customers and vendors through the procure to pay process
• Research, develop and implement improved processes to facilitate efficient AP posting, reconciliation and compliance with internal control policies.
• Assist with internal/external audits as required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Qualifications in this role include, but are not limited to:

• A 2-year degree in accounting or business is required.
• A minimum of 2+ years accounting experience required.
• General Ledger experience required; Oracle Cloud preferred.
• Familiar with simple formulae in Excel such as pivot table, sum, filter, sort, lookup, etc.
• Able to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, customer service and timeliness
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; be detail oriented, adaptive, analytical, professional, and reliable
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Experience in Check Processing
