Duties to include:
Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets. Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fuelling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.
No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4-week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.

A DRIVING LICENSE WITH C1 CLASS IS ESSENTIAL - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand and this can include Bank Holidays, weekends and nights, preparing our frontline operational vehicles and maintaining our provision on a 24 hour basis.
A significant percentage of our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight. However, night and weekend working does attract unsocial payments which will mean pay increasing significantly depending on shift patterns.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days (pro-rata) depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.
