Animal Helpline Operative - Full and Part time

The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking to recruit full time and part time Animal Helpline Operatives. The role is based at home (internet connection is required) however the successful candidates must be able to attend Headquarters in Dunfermline as required and for initial training.

The Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline responds to emergency calls dealing with animals in distress and other related animal matters. The Animal Helpline fields over 230,000 calls per annum and our Inspectors and Animal Rescue Officers will attend over 85,000 incidents this year.

Applicants should have excellent telephone and customer care experience and a keen interest in animal welfare. Previous call or contact centre experience is desirable.

Call levels vary considerably over the year; therefore, the Animal Helpline operates an annualised seasonal shift system on flexible rotas.

Full time (30 hours per week) and part time (12 hours per week) positions are available. Hours of work are working up to 4 days out of any 7, on a rota basis to include weekends, working up to 9 hours per day between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
