The Application Software Tester is responsible to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications before applications and updates are released for use by the business. The primary objective is to identify defects, bugs, and potential usability issues so that the team can address and resolve them before the software goes live and released to end-users. The Application Software Tester primary responsibilities are ensuring that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements, systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. This role will take an active role in cross-departmental projects as needed. The Application Software Tester will collaborate with analysts, designers, cross-functional business teams, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications. This will allow them to ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. The Application Software Testing will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining testing strategies to improve the Organizations testing processes using a combination of user advocacy, best practices, and post-deployment reviews.

  • Evaluate, document, develop, and deploy testing techniques for applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
  • Reviewing and understanding the software requirements and specifications provided by the development team or stakeholders, executing test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will determine optimal system performance according to specifications.
  • Communicate issues that arise from testing that could potentially cause issues in production and be able to recommend and work with the team towards resolution.
  • Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management. This includes producing reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.
  • Writing, updating, publishing, and communicating user and technical release notes, as well as any applicable changes to user manuals.
  • Ensure that there is test documentation for all areas of testing, including but not limited to test planning and design, test execution, regression testing, exploratory testing, performance testing, security testing, and compatibility testing.
  • Facilitate the code deployment and configuration management processes through all environments including development, staging and production with the goal being 100% error-free. This includes but is not limited to scheduling, executing, documenting, and communicating throughout each phase. This role has a key part supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Business or IT related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Up to 3 years of QA/testing experience.
  • Must be able to obtain government clearance after hire. US Citizenship is required by the US government in order to obtain government clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to details to identify even minor issues that might impact the application's performance or ability to meet outlined expectations.
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work with customers and end-users, understand their business practices, and manage their expectations.

  • With assistance, ability to conduct research in business systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to interpret and create documentation a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The pay range for this position is $59,000-$65,000/year . An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
