Reporting to the Manager of Employee Relations, the Employee Relations Specialist partners with both staff and leadership to address complex employee relations topics and facilitate solutions that achieve optimal outcomes. Interprets hospital policies and procedures and provides support for mediation between employees and management in order to promote direct, respectful communication. Provides guidance in the area of Human Resources within all applicable statutory regulations, ensures consistency within the organization to minimize legal risk to the organization, and facilitates efforts to address root causes of human resource issues. Creates positive rapport among employees and leadership and drives a culture of employee engagement.

This position works independently with leadership and employees within guidelines/procedures established by the department Manager. The incumbent must possess sound judgment and decision making skills, proven facilitator/mediation skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible Human Resources experience
  • Experience in an employee relations and/or leadership position preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
  • College degree - 4 year or equivalent experience
