Main Purpose
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Food Service Workers at 100 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve food and beverages informally, prepare service areas, prepare simple foods and perform related tasks.
You will also be responsible for setting up the cafeteria lines, food services counters, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold foods, including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, beverages, glasses, silverware and condiments.
You will be preparing fruit and vegetables for cooking and serving. Cutting, shredding, slicing, and dicing fruit, vegetables, and
produce for cooking and serving.
You will also be responsible for clearing, breaking-down, and cleaning the assigned areas. You will serve and apportions a variety of meats, vegetables, desserts, etc. into standard serving sizes at cafeteria counters, in dining rooms, or on patient tray assembly lines, whilst utilizing safety and sanitation practices, rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Knowledge and Experience Required - Applicants must demonstrate the following:
Please provide detailed work experience as it relates to the required competencies listed below, as this will be used to determine your qualification for this position.
* Knowledge of basic arithmetic in order to count number of tables/trays required, to determine the number of servings a container will yield, and to count change when required to perform cashier duties.
* Working knowledge of food service sanitation standards including procedures to prevent contamination spoilage and waste.
* Ability to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions.
* Ability to do tasks with several steps and follow established sequence of tasks without more than normal supervision.
* Ability to use and maintain food service tools and equipment such as knives, mechanical dishwasher and powered cleaning equipment.
* Ability to learn food service safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
* Ability to read and understand simple signs, names or food items and instructions.
Other Significant facts pertaining to this position
* May be required to work rotating shifts.
* May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
* Emergency overtime may be required.
* The work may require the employee to possess a Food Handlers Card and use/wear appropriate uniform, safety and sanitation equipment.
* May be required to attend Quality Improvement Training to participate in section Quality Improvement Teams and data collection efforts.
* Employee may be required to undertake training as directed by management.

* Hours of work: Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies.
* Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
* Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
* May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.
* May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
* Position may be coded as mission essential.
* A 6-month probationary period will be required.
* Overtime may be required.
* May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
