McCain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by McCain Foods.

Position Summary:

Responsible for operating and maintaining specialty IQF cutting equipment in a manner that insures quality potato products are produced for final packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates cutters in a manner that obtains proper cut uniformity and maximum utilization of the whole potato
• Determines need to replace cutter blades and takes appropriate action
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing cutting equipment and related line equipment per sanitation procedures.
• Disassembles and reassembles equipment for sanitation purposes
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Assists in general and special clean up as required.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a potato processing facility is a plus.
  • Candidates are expected to have mechanical aptitude, and ability to use computer to enter data, change machine settings and run reports.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees.
  • Required to complete certification through the Operator Training Program.
• Compensation includes a competitive hourly wage and excellent benefits.

Physical Demand:

Frequently: Stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

Occasionally: Walk; sit; and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
