About the role

The Cruciform Hub is a busy library for UCL students and UCLH staff and we require an enthusiastic, committed Library Assistant to undertake all front desk duties, including enquiries, loans and checking that the library environment is safe for users.

The Salary for this role is £12,055 (including London Allowance) per annum.

Special working conditions, including manual handling and use of display screen equipment, are required to carry out this role. Training will be provided.

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

About you

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:

A customer-oriented Library Assistant who will play a key role in delivering exceptional library services at the Cruciform Hub. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding IT, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as holding 5 A*-C GCSEs or equivalent. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is crucial, along with a strong commitment to providing responsive and positive customer service. Prior experience working in a library, including a solid understanding of library procedures and systems, is essential for this role. This role is for 14.6 hours per week (ie, 2 days) (40% FTE) and will require you to work during the hours of 08:45-17:03 on Thursday and Friday each week.
