Job Description

As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in our daily operations by managing inbound and outbound shipping, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and maintaining records of all shipments.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing freight schedules.
  • Create and route shipments to customer destinations.
  • Record shipments accurately in our dispatch software and prepare necessary paperwork (e.g., bill of lading, customs papers).
  • Manage inventory transfers between facilities.
  • Verify outbound freight against documentation for accuracy.
  • Audit freight invoices and handle disputes.
  • Monitor railcar and trucking charges.
  • Assign carriers, follow up on deliveries, and monitor performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure on-time shipments and resolve any related issues.
  • Keep sales staff and customers informed of shipment status.
  • Maintain safety standards and adhere to regulations.
  • Provide freight quotes for new business.
  • Assist in expanding our carrier base.
  • Optimize loads with available equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of transportation requirements and capacities.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
