Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY:

The Machine Operator is required to meet all safety, food safety, and quality specifications of the products. This role requires the safe and efficient operation of industrial manufacturing and packaging equipment. This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their scope of influence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meets quality specifications associated with the products.
• Operates machinery or equipment in compliance with production standards.
• Communicates with Lead and/or Supervisor, and collaborates with the Maintenance Department when equipment malfunctions, or when the machines or pieces of equipment are operating at substandard speeds.
• Ensures that all raw materials required are of the specified part number prior to being used.
• Performs basic maintenance and/or troubleshooting on the machinery or equipment to which they are assigned.
• Conducts equipment cleanups and / or setups of the line.
• Stocks, reworks, troubleshoots and performs any other duties that will be required to keep the line functioning.
• Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.
• The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES):

• High School Diploma or GED
• Operational knowledge of production machinery or equipment.
• Prior related work experience in food manufacturing industry preferred.
• Must be able to follow operations, safety, and quality procedures and rules.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow directions or instructions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, climb, and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
• Must have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
• Ability to load, unload, lift or move equipment which may weigh up to 50 lbs.
