Position Summary:

The Projects Coordinator will lead field level implementation of WFP funded project in Dadu, Sindh province. He/ She shall be responsible for overall field implementation, coordination and monitoring of CBT project.

Job Description:

  • Provide support and technical oversight to the implementation of operational elements of cash transfers program activities by working closely with the district leads, WFP, government and Human Appeal Country Office.
  • Be responsible for establishing and overseeing cash delivery mechanisms in place by implementing partners.
  • Support the Project Lead in the implementation of the program activities related to the transfer of cash to the beneficiaries.
  • Ensuring effective planning for projects including timely beneficiary registration, communal needs assessments and development beneficiary engagement plans.
  • Ensure efficient and effective implementation of CBT programme and related interventions at the community level.
  • Provide strategic and innovative solutions for building more efficient, coordinated, and reliable CBT programmes that lead to Better prepared communities and more responsive DRM systems in case of future disasters.
  • Assist in the identification of and liaison with key stakeholders who can contribute to broadening and deepening the outcomes of the project.
  • Ensure effective project closure and lesson learned workshop is organized with participation of all stakeholders.
  • Organize trainings on disaster preparedness with district government/DDMA officials.
  • Ensure quality NFI schemes are implemented in the project closure phase with focus on community resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
  • Undertake field visits for assessing quality field implementation of program activities and take corrective measures where necessary.
  • Lead project teams for identification and selection of interventions for FFA participants both communal and individual NFIs and Non-NFIs schemes and capacity building activities.
  • He/She shall be responsible for ensuring quality development of training material, Community training plans and delivery of capacity building trainings in communities.
  • Address and solve problems that might arise between the community and Project teams, or among community members, during and because of the implementation of the project activities.
  • Document success stories, case studies and other reporting documents as required by the Programmes Manager.

Qualification and Experience

  • University degree in Disaster Risk management, social sciences, or management sciences or related field.
  • Mandatory knowledge and understanding of conditional cash transfers programming;
  • 7 years of total experience with at least 1-2 year experience working on CBT and/or DRR and resilience building projects preferably with WFP on leading role;
  • Experience in the provision of administrative and logistical support and organization of workshops
  • Experience in research, analysis, and report writing;
  • Experience in working with government officials and non-governmental organizations;
  • Demonstrated experience in working in complex working environments;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Access etc.) and experience in handling web-based applications

Skills and Abilities

  • Good understanding of community participation and the integration of DRR in recovery projects.
  • Knowledge of PSEA, Protection & GBV, Gender & Inclusiveness in recovery context.
  • Knowledge of low cost structural mitigation activities.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages
  • Diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial and occasionally, senior government levels
