JOB SUMMARY:

As a Receiving Associate at USA Industries, you will be responsible for overseeing the seamless operations of our receiving department, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments. Your primary responsibilities include meticulously validating, processing, inspecting, and stocking incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step. Operating in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail is paramount as you pull orders promptly and effectively.

Safety and precision are foundational aspects of this role, as you uphold our standards by performing tasks accurately and securely. Additionally, maintaining shipping schedules is crucial to our operations, requiring diligence and timeliness in order fulfillment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Receive and process incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Inspect incoming goods for quality, damages, and discrepancies, documenting any issues and initiating appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Organize and stock received items in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and inventory management practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as sales and production to ensure timely delivery and distribution of received goods to designated areas.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and delivery drivers to coordinate receipt and delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
  • Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Utilize precision tools such as scales, tape measures, and calipers to verify product dimensions and ensure order accuracy.
  • Perform basic PC tasks including data entry, email correspondence, uploading pictures, and scanning documents, leveraging technological tools to enhance productivity.
  • Proficiently navigate and utilize ERP software for inventory management tasks, demonstrating competency in system operations.
  • Generate, print, and apply labels on incoming shipments and parts accurately and promptly, facilitating streamlined inventory tracking and organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency in daily operations, adhering to workplace cleanliness standards.
  • Process inventory transactions in Epicor ERP software using RF scanner technology and PC interfaces, ensuring real-time accuracy and accountability.
  • Deliver materials promptly and accurately to designated areas, supporting operational efficiency and timely order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by assisting in other work areas and performing additional tasks as needed to meet business demands and objectives.
  • Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education, certification, or experience in logistics or related field a plus.

Work Experience

  • 1 – 2+ years of receiving or warehousing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Skills

  • Proficient PC skills (email, scan & upload documents, internet, Microsoft Office, etc.), including warehouse management and inventory software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, other departments, and customers.
  • Forklift certified or ability to obtain certification.
  • Utilize tools for measurements and counting (tape measure, weight & count scales, etc.).
  • Proficient in multitasking, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime hours, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.
  • Available for on-call duty as scheduled, demonstrating readiness to respond to work-related needs outside of regular hours.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
  • Continuous standing and/or walking.
  • Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
  • Good eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
