Job Description:

This role is a remote position. You need to be in office (Montreal downtown) once per week.

At Sun Life, our clients are at the centre of everything we do. As a licensed Retirement Consultant your work will directly contribute to our mission of helping clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. As a member of our Client Solutions team, you will support Sun Life clients with their retirement needs by speaking with clients over the phone and providing recommendations that meet their needs.

What you will do:

  • Proactively call existing Group Retirement Savings plan members (Sun Life clients) who are at or approaching retirement to discuss retirement income options to meet their stage of life.

  • Provide investment guidance to clients, through consultation related to their financial needs, including savings, and retirement income.

  • Partner with client to be ‘retirement ready’ through the use of planning tools.

  • Keep abreast of product changes, understand new products that that come to market, keep a pulse on industry changes and competitor products.

  • Contribute to sales targets by meeting or exceeding objectives

  • This role does NOT require any prospecting of new clients or cold calling. You will be interacting with existing clients of Sun Life.

What you need to succeed:

  • Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP) or Insurance of person license in Quebec (1a)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

  • Ability to quickly build rapport and relationships with clients over the phone

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to probe by asking questions to understand needs

  • Self motivated and can work independently

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related sales experience in the financial services industry is preferred.

  • Experience selling wealth products over the phone.

Assets:

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)

  • Canadian Investment Fund Course (IFIC)

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial Planner designation (IQPF)

  • Completion of a college or university degree is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
