About the role

As a Summer Trainee, you’ll be involved with assessing the long-term safety of radioactive waste disposal. You’ll get to work with interesting and diverse topics as well as with timescales spanning up to 100 000 years. The main task for the summer is planned to be a study of long-term corrosion rates of metals under repository conditions. Other tasks may be included as well. The position is a great way to learn about nuclear energy, nuclear waste management, and especially long-term safety of the disposal.

About you

We’re looking for students eager to learn and contribute to the long-term safety of radioactive waste disposal.

• Are pursuing a degree in engineering or natural sciences.
• Are fluent in written and spoken English, Finnish is a plus.
• Have a proactive attitude and good communication skills.
• Have a curious mind and ability to work independently.
