Veterinary Assistant, Emergency, Central Victoria Animal Hospital

Central Victoria Animal Hospital is seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our 24-hour Emergency team. This position is full-time, with a rotating schedule.

This role works closely with our ER RVTs, DVMs and board-certified specialists in a fast paced, stimulating, world class medical environment. The ideal candidate will possess a positive, team-oriented attitude and a personality that enables them to deliver exceptional customer service, along with strong communication skills. A veterinary assistant certificate would be an asset, but is not a requirement. This position requires flexibility to work on a rotating schedule; however, it also affords a great work-life balance.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting Veterinarians and RVTs with various tasks and treatments

• Creating a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents

• Providing compassionate care duties, including feeding and walking patients

• Creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients

• General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of work area, pet holding areas and common areas

• Client care such as reception, payments and supportive communication

• Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
