Warehouse Operative Apprentice

Salary: £19,620 if you are 20 or under, or £22,071 if you are 21 and over.

Contract: 2-year fixed term contract, full-time, Monday to Friday

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: YPO Head Office, 41 Industrial Park, Wakefield, WF2 0XE

Are you hard working with a passion for all things Logistics? We are looking for a positive, motivated individual to start their career in Logistics at YPO as a Warehouse Operative apprentice, working within our warehouse providing a high-quality service to our customers.

You will take pride in being well organised with an excellent attention to detail, demonstrating the ability to independently manage tasks and prioritise workloads effectively, working well as part of a team and demonstrating a positive attitude.

You will ideally have a good understanding of the work and skills required by a Warehouse Operative, as well as an understanding of how quality impacts customer service, with a keen desire to get it right first time, but above all have the commitment to study and work at the same time.

As a Warehouse Operative apprentice you will deal with goods and products that come into and out of our warehouse. You will learn the systems and processes of a busy warehouse environment and you’ll spend time understanding how goods are ordered, picked, packed and delivered to our customers. This is a physical role with some lifting involved; full health and safety training will be given.

As a successful candidate, it’s essential you have 4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade A* to F or 9 to 2, including English and Mathematics.

Our Apprenticeships

Your apprenticeship will include both nationally recognised qualifications and on-the-job training, as well as the opportunity to partake in our newly developed Apprenticeship Pathway – a programme of workshops designed to complement the experience you will gain through working with us. You will be working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard, support technician route.

Apprenticeships are available from age 16. Students awaiting exam results can still apply, please state predicted grades on your application form.
