The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General is seeking an organized, conscientious and thorough individual to work in the Financial Services Branch in Regina as an Accounting Clerk.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting and Public Reporting, you will be responsible for ensuring deposits, receipts and invoices are verified and processed daily in accordance with acts, regulations, policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for reviewing bank accounts and updating banking information. You will have the ability to accurately reference, interpret and explain acts, regulations, policies and guidelines. You will enter data in the general ledger, receipt invoices in accounts receivable and will make corrections to invoice registers using MIDAS. You will also answer accounts receivable, invoices and, accounts payable inquiries, record and file documents and have strong customer service skills.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of accounting principles and procedures relating to accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciling general ledger and bank accounts. The successful candidate will be organized, attentive to detail and demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks in order to fulfill the above duties accurately and within firm deadlines. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to calmly listen, assess and clarify problems, and respond with options to clients.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through training and related work experience.

The salary for this position will be updated to $26.002 - $32.589 once the Class Plan Renewal process is completed and the HR system has been updated.
