This position is charged with implementation and management of employer-based health and wellbeing services conducted under the collaboration and direction of Employee Health Services physician leadership. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will deliver direct patient care to employees for on-site emergencies, work-related injuries and illnesses, episodic personal care, medical health surveillance examinations, preventive examinations and chronic disease management. Additional responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Ways you’ll contribute:

  • Protect the health and well-being of the company’s employees through the provision of healthcare as an advanced practice provider.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Lilly’s policies and procedures. Liaison with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professionals to ensure appropriate care for employees and management of workplace hazards.
  • Work with internal and external resources to manage occupational and personal injuries and illnesses to resolve appropriately.
  • Assist management as needed with quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the professional development of other departmental staff.
  • Assist and support Employee Health Services’ clinical administrative tasks as delegated.
  • Serve as site medical lead for the local Emergency Response Team.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of the clinic such that employees’ medical needs are met.

Key Objectives:

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Employ best practices to assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a range of ambulatory care issues and episodic illnesses, covering both occupational and personal health.
  • Prescribe medications and devices within scope and according to protocols aligned with clinical guidelines.
  • Provide follow-up care for all health concerns and support annual health screenings and examinations.
  • Educate employees on health, self-care, and various treatment options tailored to their needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals both within and outside the company for comprehensive care.
  • Facilitate appropriate physician referrals considering the employee’s location and cultural background.
  • Use local resources effectively to ensure compliance with medical regulations and provide optimal care and referrals.

Emergency and Safety Support:

  • Respond to emergencies, providing first aid for work-related and other illnesses.
  • Support safety programs and the Emergency Response Team.
  • Raise awareness of occupational hazards and potential loss areas to Health and Safety.
  • Serve as a liaison for HSE, OSHA, and the Nurse Case Manager regarding work-related health matters.

Health Promotion and Compliance:

  • Promote wellbeing programs, offering resources for wellness and chronic disease management.
  • Coordinate with corporate health services to provide immunizations and flu shots.
  • Maintain medical records in compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Provide on-call support for continuous clinical coverage.
  • Ensure the clinic is staffed to meet the medical needs of the site and its employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master or advanced degree in Nursing or Master Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited university with at least 2 years of applicable experience
  • Certification from a national certification agency as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, or Physician Assistant.
  • Current State of North Carolina license as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
  • CPR for Health Care Provider certification.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support prior to assignment start date

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Preferences:

  • Willingness to obtain medical licensure in additional states to support US-based employees, including but not limited to Indiana.
  • Completion of NIOSH Spirometry Certification and CAOHC Hearing Conservationist certification prior to assignment start date
  • Prior experience using any electronic health record
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat or refer health problems arising in the workplace.
  • Follow the provided approved Lilly Policy and Procedures.
  • APP will have on site only those approved medications as outlined in Lilly standing orders.
  • Exhibit a high level of customer service and client responsiveness.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
