BSA[1] ANALYST I

Promote, market, and facilitate the overall sale of products of the bank. Contribute to the bank’s growth by the effective sale of bank services to new and existing customers with emphasis on courteous and professional service.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

This position reports directly to the BSA Officer.

This position reports indirectly to the COO[2]/CRO[3].

FLSA[4] STATUS

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the FLSA.

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this position is to assist the BSA Officer in maintaining compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations and rulings, as well as bank policies and procedures, as it relates to BSA/AML[5]/OFAC[6].

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assists with developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the BSA/AML Program.
• Assists with various quality control reviews and monitoring in the following areas using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank’s compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis:
  • BSA
  • USA PATRIOT[7] Act
  • AML
  • OFAC
  • CIP[8]
• Clear and/or assist with the flowing types of alerts:
  • BSA/AML
  • CDD[9]/EDD[10]
  • Account Fraud (Ops work)
  • Card Fraud (Ops work)
  • Watchlist (314a & OFAC)
• Open cases triggered from system alerts or internal notifications (if further review is needed)
• Review, prepare (for the Committee’s review), and file SAR’s[11] (as necessary)
• File Elder Abuse Cases
• Review ID Verification & OFAC Verifications (sent by Branches)
• Upload & work 314a
• Handle 314b request
• Provide 314b responses to other banks (as necessary)
• Review CTR’s[12] and potential exemptions
• Review Chargeback Report
• Assist in preparing the Board Report
• Assist in preparing BSA Committee Report
• Assist with audits/exams
• Review MIL[13] Report
• Review New Account Report
• Review Cash Shipment Log
• Maintain MSB[14] & HRC[15] tracking
• Wire Errors
• Work the Currency Transaction Reports daily.
• Fill out the CTR error report daily.
• Work the 314(a) alerts.
• Work the OFAC alerts.
• Review and check High Risk Ratings on new customers and make sure they are in the AML system correctly.
• Review the charge back report for possible kiting suspects.
• High Risk Report Maintenance – Maintain High Risk Report and update in the system when changes are made to the classification of the high risk report according to the requirements of the BSA Committee High Risk Reviews.
• Review the NBFI[16] list for accuracy.
• Review MSB’s for proper registration of the.
• Assist outside auditor or external authorities in the performance of examinations and special projects as needed.
• Attend all trainings necessary to become knowledgeable of and stay current with BSA regulations and any changes that are made to the regulations.
• Study problems and recommend changes in present policies, practices and controls; and be knowledgeable of regulatory changes.
• Attend all meetings and complete all training required to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations and guidance associated with the performance of your job function.
• Comply with all applicable BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures associated with the performance of your job function, including participation in required training and identifications of suspicious activity.
• Responsible for making suggestions to improve branch/departmental operations and overall bank.
• Perform other duties and assignments within the bank at Management’s request; accept any cross-training as directed by Management, works in other branches if needed.
