In this pivotal role, you will work with advanced systems such as Primo, Alma, openEQUELLA, Kaltura, and Power BI to enhance the user experience. You'll actively seek improvement opportunities to refine metadata management and optimise systems & workflows to ensure our library services are not only functional but exceptional. As the driving force behind Swinburne Commons, the University’s centralised hub for digital media management and distribution, you will play a vital role in shaping how Swinburne's knowledge and resources are shared.

Please note the anticipated working days required for this position are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in relevant technical areas including digital object content management, digitisation of text and other formats, and web authoring and editing.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in the use of relevant metadata standards and normalisation practices to deliver a highly functional and user-friendly library discovery service.
- Demonstrated technical experience and expertise in the maintenance and enhancement of online content management systems and other web applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a small team, to meet the changing demands of a new project.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities and work to timelines under broad direction.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement support strategies including training and development of guidelines.
- High-level interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience in an academic library and a good knowledge of the operation of library services would be an advantage.
Qualifications
A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
