Permanent | 4-day working week | Hybrid: Cambourne & home
We're seeking a dynamic Monitoring Officer. A pivotal role working directly to the Chief Executive and supporting members from both parties.

The Role

  • Monitoring Officer for SCDC - lead on governance, ethics, and constitutional matters
  • Expert advisor - RIPA, Data Protection, FOI, and regulatory affairs
  • Legal Shared service - work alongside our talented shared legal team
  • Strategic leadership - operate at a strategic level to advise colleagues and members on complex legal matters

What You Bring

  • Qualified Solicitor/Barrister with local government experience
  • Specialist expertise in regulatory, governance, and constitutional law
  • Leadership skills - proven ability to manage complex legal work
  • Political acumen - work effectively with Members and colleagues
  • Commercial insight with excellent communication and negotiation skills
