Software Development Engineer in Test

As a Barclays Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be coordinating with all teams across the entire Rewards USCB Flows. You will also validate the functionality from the customer view from account origination, fulfilment and servicing to regulatory and compliance aspects and also emphasis on the customer experience-based journeys. End-to-End testing extends and complements the functional testing performed by application scrum teams, and it is performed after the application teams have completed their testing.

What will you be doing?

• Developing and maintaining automation testing frameworks and scripts and defining unit, contract test case creation, and automating scenarios
• Being responsible for defining test data requirements and advising regarding test case creation, contingency plans, and other preparation activities
• Testing delivery in an Agile model with focus on in sprint automation & conducting analyses to identify software integration needs and assisting with new application
• Taking responsibility for reporting bugs, conducting regression testing, analyzing test results, reporting defects and tracking defects for retesting in JIRA Platform
• Driving exploratory testing and testing automation covering key practice areas including API, web testing
• Creating, shaping, and monitoring test plans for scalability, security, functionality, and usability for successful code deployment and working within large collaborative
• Collaborating with Quality Assurance team and project stakeholders to assess specifications and technical requirements and identify
• Researching, writing, and editing documentation and technical requirements, including software design, evaluation plans, test results, and technical manuals

• Expert knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Karate & Selenium to execute automation scripts; working knowledge of Selenium, Karate, TestNG, Unix to develop/run automation scripts
• Practical experience in analyzing the issue and document the steps and develop the QE Framework from scratch for automation
• Experience in Agile, SQL, MongoDB and Oracle DB and Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving, scheduling and prioritizing skills, self-motivated and progressively thinking outside the box is pivotal to this position

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience in Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Karate, TestNG, SQL, Unix and Cypress to develop and run automation scripts
• Ability to diagnose issues while dealing with uncertainty and incomplete information and identify root cause
• Ability to guide the team in the decision-making process and work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Good technical, analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies and applications
