VP of Marketing (Remote)

The VP of Marketing (VPM) will help drive development and execution of commercialization strategy for MicroTransoponder as an early commercialization stage medical device company. The VPM should have strong technical selling skills, program building strategy and strong marketing and business development skills. The VPM will help build a commercialization infrastructure and organization to drive market adoption of the Vivistim therapy and be largely responsible for patient growth within the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the marketing and advertising initiatives using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, DTC, advertising and public relations
- Leadership: Deliver strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the company and the establishment of an effective growth process and infrastructure. Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization in pursuit of the of the company's overall business goals
- Marketing: Lead development of the company's marketing strategy with an emphasis on achieving market penetration and sales growth with a particular emphasis on cost-effective customer and patient acquisition and market demand generation.
- Market Definition and Penetration: Hands-on leadership in developing a detailed model of the care continuum of stroke patients - patient pathways and proportions through a comprehensive array of health services, decision points and drivers.
- Develop methods and tools to drive patient and HCP awareness at various stages of the referral pathway
- KOL Relationship Development: Form clinical KOL relationships to guide communications and publication strategies, peer-to-peer education, healthcare reimbursement and regulatory efforts
- Business Development: Develop a strategy and provide leadership for enterprise-wide business development opportunities. Originate and manage business development opportunities that are consistent with the company's strategy for revenue growth
- Execution: Develop an operating budget, manage projects within budget while prioritizing needs of the sales team as it relates to commercial growth and patient acquisition
- Product Marketing: Maintain the product lifecycle for Vivistim that includes iteration and new technology development and design inputs from relavant users
- Thought Leadership: Work with KOL's in all specialities that interact with Vivistim and are key decision makers across the US
Requirements
- 15 years experience marketing, sales and business development experience in positions of increasing responsibility - with a focus on marketing expansion as well as 5-7 years' experience in a leadership role. BA/BS in Relevant Field, MBA preferred
- 10 years of people management experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing AND executing successful commercialization strategies in early- stage companies as well as Fortune 500 companies.
- Ability to think creatively and develop non-traditional solutions to complex business challenges
- Ability to support and expand a therapy introduction through a program building approach
- Ability to supervise and manage multiple projects at the same time
- Strong and demonstrated strategic planning skills
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Develop and manage employees, leading to continually improve performance, evaluating strengths and developmental needs; providing appropriate feedback, coaching and mentoring to ensure high levels of performance
- Capacity to conceptualize as well as operationalize commercial strategies
- Contribute to long-range planning process, including analyses of target markets, defining key claims needed to drive the business, patient acquisition and articulating key product needs required for success
- Manage strategic initiatives to deadlines and budget, working cross-functionally as needed to achieve business objectives efficiently
